About me

Hi there!

Thanks for visiting my website!

My name is Blaze Ducharme, the owner and the visual artist of Blazed Photography.

I am based out of my hometown - Pine Falls, Manitoba!

I enjoy all aspects of photography and love shooting just about anything. I love to take pictures of people and interacting with them to get the best results.

My goal is to show the beauty, grace, strength and enthusiasm of people.

I started photography when I was very young. My father bought me my first point and shoot camera. I was the kid that brought her camera EVERYWHERE, and I still do. However, during that time I didn’t know that my love for photography and capturing moments would spark into what it is today.

After doing some shoots, I decided I would upgrade myself and my knowledge of photography and attended Prairie View School of Photography in Winnipeg.

I entered their 8 month diploma program, graduating in April 2017! I have never made a better decision in my life. I have grown so much as a photographer and I am thankful I had the opportunity to graduate as a professional photographer from such an outstanding school.

Because of my positive experience attending school for photography, I encourage everyone to embrace their passions and to do what you love to do.

I always shoot in RAW and in manual mode. All of my post-processing is done with software’s Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. As an artist, the biggest favour I ever did myself was, that I stopped comparing my work to that of others, and rather than trying to mimic the editing style of someone else, I created my own. A mixture of warm, hazy colours and well... feelings! The feelings evoked to me at the shoot have a huge impact on the editing choices.

Every shoot is different and special in it's own way so, I find it very important to create an editing style based on that.

Picking up a camera gives me the opportunity to capture my specific vision, how I see things and it allows me to share that with others. Ultimately, a well captured image represents a moment in time that is expressed infinitely, and that’s enough of a reason for me to hang a camera around my shoulders everywhere I go.
